About Us

General Premium (genprem.com) originally started in New Jersey under the guidance of Iris Zelman.

The current owner, Steven Achilich, worked part time from Long Island while teaching Special Education and learning the inner workings of an Ad Specialty Distributorship.

As Steve’s family grew (Sam, his wife, and two boys Pearson & Drew) it was time 37 years ago to form General Premium Corporation in New York.

It took six months for us to obtain our first order, which was a calendar for a local butcher, that stated (“we are just a bunch of hams”.) I will never forget that because they have a picture of a bunch of pigs with their noses in the air.

Boy, did that start the ball rolling.

We won a Golden Pyramid award in 1995 for designing and producing a recycling calendar magnet in our hometown of Riverhead. All the townships had to close their landfills, and we came up with the idea of mailing the calendars informing the residents of what was put out each day for recycling/trash pick-up.

A true mom & pop shop we work from our home o]ice in Baiting Hollow, New York. As General Premium involved, we have many clients ranging from small local businesses to large corporations.

It is truly a wonderful industry to participate in where you can be incredibly creative and be awarded for your efforts.
